Initially, it was a tad on the quiet side, but it has since loosened up and now it sounds simply amazing. It strikes the perfect balance between volume – not too loud, not too quiet – and the deep, rich tone is just delightful. Installing it was a breeze, taking less than an hour. The engine exhaust pipe receives high praise from customers for its exceptional sound quality, ease of installation, and impressive deep and angry rumble. Helpful Review: I found that some buyers rated this product with the following things: “I am very pleased with Borla’s exhaust for the C-6 Corvette. They arrived quickly and the installation was straightforward. To expedite the installation, I cut 6″ off of the old stock pipes, making them easier to remove. Personally, I didn’t care about saving them. When it came to installing the new Borla’s, it was a breeze – they bolted right into place. The sound they produce is perfect, with a throaty rumble on acceleration and a satisfying burble upon de-acceleration. Even at freeway speeds with RPMs below 2000, there is no annoying drone in the cockpit. If you’re considering the Borla’s, I highly recommend the S-Type for the best of both worlds.” –Â read full review of customers on Amazon here

4/CORSA 14169 Axle-Back Exhaust System
Highlight: Dual walled design protects against heat distortion
My analysis: Customers are highly satisfied with the auto part, praising its exceptional sound quality, ease of installation, and great value. They appreciate that it delivers pure animal-like sound with no resonance, and doesn’t drone on the highway.
Helpful Review: I found that some buyers rated this product with the following things: “When choosing an exhaust for my Corvette, I listened to numerous options before settling on Corsa. It offers a more exotic, Italian sound rather than the typical deep rumble associated with muscle cars. At normal cruising speeds, it remains relatively quiet, but it can roar to life when needed – exactly what a Corvette should sound like. Opting for an axle-back system allows you to retain your stock long pipes (H-pipe), resulting in a satisfying popping sound during deceleration. As someone who had never replaced an exhaust before, I found the process a bit challenging, but by following the provided instructions and removing the long pipes first (with the help of a rubber mallet), it became much easier. One invaluable tip I came across was to leave the bolts loose initially, and then use a jack with a straight board to lift and align the tips before tightening everything down. By employing this method, the tips were perfectly aligned. Best of luck with your installation!” – read full review of customers on Amazon here

My analysis: Customers are pleased with various aspects of the auto part, including its sound quality, ease of installation, quality, fit, and value. They particularly appreciate its nice, simple tone, well-built construction, and the right amount of rumble without excessive drone at cruising speeds.
Helpful Review: I found that some buyers rated this product with the following things: “The Borla Stinger system offers excellent fit, finish, and sound. It is well-built, easy to install, and provides an aggressive sound when accelerating. Despite the previous owner’s poorly installed axle-back, the removal process was the only issue. There is no highway drone, making it a great choice for a more enjoyable driving experience.” read full review of customers on Amazon here

Helpful Review: I found that some buyers rated this product with the following things: “I wholeheartedly agree with the reviews shared by others. The product is a perfect fit and of superb quality. The exhaust tip looks fantastic and the sound is just right. Previously, I had a Borla on my Scion xA and loved the sound. It is no different with this one. Initially, I didn’t notice any power difference after installing and driving for a bit. However, after approximately 5 miles, once the computer adjusted, a noticeable improvement became evident. I’m currently using a stock air box with all plumbing removed and a TRD (K&N) air filter. This combination works exceptionally well. There’s no need to spend a fortune on an expensive intake. From my experience, there’s quite a disparity between theory and reality when it comes to intakes.” read full review of customers on Amazon here
Reassuring review: Another rating on this product that I found. This product is “Installing this exhaust is a breeze – just plug and play! It produces a satisfying deep gurgle sound, without any “ricey” tones. If your car doesn’t have a cutout for the exhaust tip like the S model, no worries. You can easily purchase a longer muffler hanger to position it perfectly under your bumper. Trust me, it’s worth every penny – top-notch quality that left me speechless!” – read full review of customers on Amazon here

8/Borla 11812 Rear Section Exhaust Kit
Highlight: 2 inch piping diameter, double round rolled angle cut and split rear exit
Helpful Review: I found that some buyers rated this product with the following things:
“I absolutely love the way these make my LS3 Corvette sound. Whether it’s the axle back configuration or the full header back system, they just sound incredible. I initially started with the axle back and instantly fell in love with it. But as I continued to add more power and parts to my car, I knew I had to pair it with Borla’s headers and x-pipe. Now that I have the full system, the sound is even better. I know there has been some talk about excessive drone inside the car with these, but personally, I haven’t experienced any issues. Even with the windows up, it’s not loud at all. I can have phone conversations or enjoy music while cruising or on the highway without any problems. It’s quite amusing when my friends drive past me in my car and hear the exhaust note, it’s hard to ignore!” – read full review of customers on Amazon here

- Double round rolled angle cut
- 301 series stainless steel
- Emissions legal and CARB approved in all 50 states

Helpful Review: I found that some buyers rated this product with the following things: “The Borla ATAK exhaust is an absolute beast in their product lineup. After installing this “over the axle” exhaust system on my ’08 Z06, I was blown away by the incredible sound it produces. It’s nothing short of awesome and undeniably loud. I took a couple of friends along for a ride, and as we blasted through a tunnel, they were in complete agreement that if it were any louder, their ears would bleed. This exhaust isn’t for those seeking a mild or moderate sound improvement for their Z06 or ZR-1. However, if you’re an enthusiast who craves the most aggressive and meanest sounding exhaust with that deep American rumble, then this is a must-have. Keep reading for more detailed reviews below.” –read full review of customers on Amazon here

The positive feedback also highlights the insane sound and fantastic tone of the product.
Helpful Review: I found that some buyers rated this product with the following things:
“We’ve all heard the cliché, “getting the most bang for your buck,” right? Well, let me tell you, this is a prime example of just that.
Take my 2006 Chevrolet Corvette for instance, I decided to upgrade its stock system with this amazing aftermarket option. The package arrived with great care, using molded foam, bubble wrap, and even peanuts for added protection. To my delight, not a single scratch or dent on the system! In no time, I had it installed at my local Chevrolet dealership, and they did a fantastic job.
Let me tell you, this upgrade not only improved the performance but also added a touch of allure to my beloved Corvette. It’s safe to say I couldn’t be happier with this purchase!” – read full review of customers on Amazon here

I’m Timothy Ballard, owner of a used car dealership in Springfield. I love just about everything automotive, but I have a special place in my heart for trucks. I’m an ASE Certified Master Technician, so I know my way around a car. In my spare time, I enjoy traveling with my family and hiking new trails.
I have used B&B Bullets on LS2, LS3, LS7, and LT1 engines, and thoroughly enjoyed the experience.
I am the proud owner of an 08 C6, which remains unaltered and in its original state. However, I am now seeking guidance on the most effective modification approach for my vehicle. My initial inclination was to prioritize exhaust enhancement, but I am uncertain about the optimal options for long tube headers, x or h pipe, and a cat-back system. Although I have noticed that the complete exhaust system can quickly become costly, the S type Borla cat-back appears appealing, leaving me undecided on the headers. I would greatly appreciate your valuable input on this matter!
Furthermore, while we are on the subject, I would like to inquire about the recommended order for my top 5-10 upgrades.
Please consider looking up “C6 Corvette muffler delete” as it offers an excellent sound at a budget-friendly price.
The stock exhaust on a c6 is surprisingly quite. Here is my c6 with stock headers and a billy boat prt exhaust. It’s nice and has a deep tone with little drone. I then got borla catless headers with x-pipe and it sounds like this . The catless headers made the car SO much louder, but instead of a deep tone it sounds more raspy. I currently run the headers with a stock npp (dual mode) exhaust and a small blower cam. When I want it quite I can close the valves with a remote or I can have it open and it’ll sound like a racecar.
What you should upgrade really depends on what you want. Since you mentioned the prices of full exhausts being so expensive I assume you won’t be supercharging it any time soon. If price is a factor I would say get any exhaust, any headers, z51 sway bars, z06 shocks, lower leaf springs, better tires, carbotech brake pads, and some good rotors.
