Reviews of customer
Helpful review: Installing it might feel a bit uneasy, but worry not – step by step instructions are included! Although it won’t completely level the truck and some factory rake will remain, I’m delighted with the 3-inch gain in the front and 2-inch gain in the rear on my 2014 Ram 1500. Plus, with this lift and 1-1/4 wheel spacers on my stock wheels, I could even fit 35-12.5-20 tires without any rubbing, even at full lock! – James Boudreau
Trending review: The new tires on my 2017 Ram 1500 Express Quad Cab are fantastic! They have the same height and radius as the stock tires (33 R20), but the width is different. I’ve been driving with them for a month now, and it feels amazing. – Kurtiss B
Reassuring review: Kit installation was smooth sailing with no issues. The first side required a slight learning curve, while the second front side was a breeze. The back side only took approximately 45 minutes. As for the tires, I opted for 295/70R17 Toyo MT’s (33″) which fit nicely on my 2012 Ram 1500 Express without the need for spacers or any rubbing. Attached are some before and after pictures for your viewing pleasure. – Cody Cleveland
Most-discussed review: Well made. The process was difficult mostly because my truck has 78k on it so I had to deal with frozen bolts. But in a Saturday afternoon me and my buddy got the whole thing done. You will need an alignment. My front actually lifted almost 4″ while the rear was a perfect 2″. I replaced struts while I was doing it. – Harry
Updated review: I lost the instructions for the excellent quality material kit, but when I first got it, I did read through them. It took me and a friend about 4 hours to complete the whole thing, although it could have been quicker if I hadn’t forgotten a few steps. Overall, it was a pretty easy process. The trickiest part was putting the front back together, but with the help of a long pry bar and an extra set of hands, it went smoothly. I had the truck on a lift, which made it easier.
Before the installation, I measured 36″ in the front and 38″ in the rear. After the installation, the measurements increased to 39″ in the front and 40″ in the rear. This was done on a 2016 RAM Big Horn 1500 4×4. Now I can’t wait to align it and put 35’s on it. Hopefully, it won’t rub on the front. I will share pictures once everything is complete.
After getting an alignment done, I found out that my Caster is out. Unfortunately, the alignment guy was unable to align it properly due to a lack of adjustment. Has anyone else experienced this issue? The alignment guy suggests removing the lift from the back to put the back axle in the correct position so he can align the front. Although it’s not affecting tire wear, the truck is pulling hard to the right. – Stonemug

Top-rated: 671+++ ratings | 64+++ answered questions
Highlight: Enhance the front of your truck with a genuine 2″ lift. Specifically designed for compatibility with the Dodge Ram 1500 4WD 2006-2023 (NOT SUITABLE FOR 2WD models).
Helpful review: The lift kit was installed on a 2020 4×4 with ease. The body lines may appear different on this body style, but the wheel gap on the fender wells remains consistent from front to back. Additionally, the pinch weld on the body appears level. However, upon observation, there seems to be a slight frontward tilt when the vehicle is parked on level ground. – dustin hendricks
Trending review: I purchase this brand for a fleet of pickups, and almost half of them have a level kit. We put them through abuse, but they hold up pretty well. – Amazon Customer
Reassuring review: The installation was exactly as described and surprisingly quick, taking just two hours with the help of two novice mechanics. The front end was lifted by approximately 1 1/2 inches, resulting in a nicely leveled truck. It has been about 4 months since the installation, and there have been no noises from the front. Thank you for the great product! – Karen Mackey
Updated review: Make sure to loosen the 36mm Axle Hub bolt on the 2019 Ram Rebel. By threading it on about 4 threads, you’ll gain the extra inch or more needed to easily slide the Struts back in. Not doing so may result in frustration and wasted time. – Yngwie L.
Favorite review: Transform your 2021 Ram 1500 Lone Star 4×4 into the leveled truck you desire with this high-quality spacer. Designed for easy installation, it securely bolts onto the top of the strut, eliminating the need to compress the spring. Enjoy the same smooth ride as before, with no noticeable difference. After installation, a front-end realignment ensures the truck drives like stock again. With the assistance of a fellow enthusiast, the entire process can be completed in just 2 hours. Consider obtaining a ball joint separator, either for rent or purchase, to simplify and expedite the job. Don’t miss out on this highly recommended kit! – Neil Petty

Top-rated: 1,262+++ ratings | 139+++ answered questions
Highlight: Raise the front of your truck by a true 2.5″ with compatibility for Dodge RAM 1500 4WD 2006-2023 (DOES NOT FIT 2WD).
Helpful review: My buddy and I completed both sides of the task in under 3 hours, including about 45 minutes of friendly conversation with the neighbor and enjoying a refreshing beverage. Initially, we tried to avoid dismantling the front assembly entirely, but once we did, everything effortlessly fell into place. I should also mention that we spent about 20 minutes searching for a bolt I accidentally dropped while attempting to thread it onto the top of the strut mount. – Frederick Crowdus
Trending review: I installed the 2.5″ Front leveling lift kit on my 2012 Ram 4X4 1500. The kit was delivered on time and in good condition. It took me about 2 hours per side to install the kit. I watched YouTube videos for guidance.
After installation, my truck was raised almost 3″ in the front and it looks fantastic! Before purchasing the kit, I measured the distance from the top of the wheel wells to the ground, both in the front and back. The back wheel well measured 3″ higher than the front. I also measured the spacers in the kit; they had a thickness of 1.5″. Though it seemed peculiar, I trusted the experts at Motofab and their product turned out to be excellent. – Ed Shope
Reassuring review: Installation is super easy! It works on 2WD Rams (2019). The whole process took us less than 3 hours. If we hadn’t taken breaks for eating and chatting, we could have finished it in under two hours. The truck now has an impressive 4″ lift up front after adding 33s on 20s. – Sgt V
Most-discussed review: I watched a YouTube video that recommended this leveling kit. I installed it with my buddies, making sure we had all the necessary equipment. It took us a total of about 4 hours, with 3 hours on the first side and 1 hour on the second. The following day, I aligned it without any issues. Now, I have 34″ tires without any rubbing, although some people have managed to fit 35″ tires. Overall, it definitely improved the appearance of the truck. Additionally, the new rims and tires gave me an extra 1″ lift. –William C.
Updated review: After having them installed for 4 years on top of factory struts, I put them through their paces with towing and plowing. They did what you’d expect, but looking back, I wish I had gone with proper shocks and adjustable lift. After 4 years, the passenger shock blew, prompting me to upgrade to bilsteins. Let me tell you, what a difference it made – same appearance, but the ride and handling improved significantly. Additionally, the spacers started to wear out where the strut sits. As I mentioned before, they do what they claim, but it’s not the ideal approach. – George Kleczka

Top-rated: 68+++ ratings | 17+++ answered questions
Highlight: Elevate the appearance of your Ram 1500 truck with Rough Country’s 2.5″ Leveling Kit. Give it a sleek, leveled look that’s sure to turn heads. Available for 12-18 Ram 1500 trucks.
Reviews of customer
Helpful review: After conducting online research on the issues with the Ram upper control arms, I initially held some skepticism. However, I discovered that the Rough Country level kit maintains OEM suspension limits, effectively resolving any concerns. While the installation process presented some challenges, the kit itself was not at fault (a better spring compressor was needed). Following alignment to RC specifications, I can confidently say that I am extremely satisfied. Despite being listed to fit up to 2018 models, it was a perfect fit for my 2019 Ram Classic crew cab 4×4! – Charles
Trending review: The price is impressive! This truck stands out from other ram trucks in terms of performance. Although the alignment specifications on paper may seem similar to factory specs, there is a slight difference of 1/10th of a degree. Any modern alignment machine can accurately display the factory specs, both before and after adjustments are made. Some competitors may claim that their leveling kits improve ride quality but the rough country kit is just as effective. In fact, it adds 2″ of pre-load to the spring, which enhances the front stiffness. This is a good thing considering the factory ride quality is on the softer side. I highly recommend this truck to anyone who wants a better-looking vehicle and a smoother ride. – Richard H.
Reassuring review: The front end of the car is now in great condition, visually appealing. However, the sound it produces resembles a wild boar and a mountain lion engaging in a rough encounter from within the wheel well. – Jesse

Reviews of customer
Helpful review: Today, I installed this kit on my 2017 Ram 1500. While I cannot comment on the long-term effects yet, I must say that it makes the truck look great. The truck now appears to be almost perfectly level, at least according to my eye test. My son-in-law helped me with the installation, and the only challenge we faced was putting the strut bolt back in place. However, this was not an issue with the kit itself, so I did not deduct any stars for it. The spacer added about 2.5 inches in length to the strut, which reduced the working space. Nevertheless, the camber and toe seem to be nearly identical after the installation. The only minor issue is that the steering wheel is slightly off from its normal position, which indicates the need for an alignment. I plan to get the alignment done early this week. I have attached a before picture taken near the campfire, but I regret not taking a closer shot to showcase the dramatic effect of the leveling kit. The space above my front wheel increased from about 3 inches to around 6 inches. If any issues arise, I will provide an update, but I do not anticipate any. My son-in-law has experience installing leveling kits, although not specifically on a Ram, as he works as a diesel mechanic for his father’s landscaping business. – Scott
Trending review: After watching an online video, it took me around 2.5 hours to install the quality hardware, which was not challenging. The front end ended up being about an inch shorter than the rear, exactly as I desired. It provided a true 2″ level. I did not replace the UCA, so we’ll see how the upper ball joint holds up. However, after the front end settled, I noticed that the upper ball joint did not appear to be too stressed. Overall, there was no noticeable change in ride quality. – Erika B
Reassuring review: These machined parts are not only well-made but also come at a competitive price. They are made of solid billet material, ensuring durability. The installation process, though a bit more involved than expected, resulted in a perfectly leveled 2012 Ram 1500. Overall, I am pleased with the outcome. – Amazon Customer
Most-discussed review: I highly recommend the leveling kit as it effectively eliminates the front end rake while minimizing stress on the UCA and ball joint. However, it’s worth noting that 3in might be pushing it. Overall, this product delivers exactly what it promises. – rick J.
Updated review: I installed this great product in about 2 hours, which was surprisingly quick compared to my previous experiences with lift/leveling kits. This is my first time using a product that isn’t from rough country, and it gave me approximately 2.5″ of lift. Overall, it’s a good product that I would definitely purchase again. Check out the before and after photos! – Kenneth Mehring
Favorite review: I’m not a fan of this “leveling kit.” It took about 2 hours to install and was quite a pain if you don’t have a hoist. That part didn’t really bother me, though. However, what I don’t like is the fact that my pickup now sits 1.5 inches higher in the front than the rear, which is forcing me to buy a rear leveling kit. I gave it two stars because the price is very reasonable. – Rob Roney

6) 3″ Front and 2″ Rear Leveling Lift Kits
Top-rated: 679+++ ratings | 138+++ answered questions
Reviews of customer
Helpful review: I installed a lift kit on my 2014 Ram 1500 Laramie to eliminate the front rake and accommodate 35-inch tires. Instead of going with the expensive Rough Country option, I opted for a more affordable alternative using Mevotech UCA’s. The control arms I used were MS251057 and MS251058. By piecing together this lift and UCA’s, I managed to spend only around $210, compared to the $600 Rough Country quoted. I was initially skeptical, but the results have been great so far. The lift and UCA replacement took about 3 hours with the help of a friend. With the new tires, I gained approximately 3.5″ of lift and eliminated the rake. I’ve already driven around 1,000 miles without any issues. Just remember to get an alignment done after installing the lift. In total, I spent $210 on the lift, found a good deal on Atturo XT’s 35×12.50×20 for $700, and paid $130 for alignment and tire installation, bringing the total cost to $1040. I haven’t experienced any rubbing issues and the factory ride quality has been maintained. The tires do produce some noise, but it’s not as bad as I had anticipated. – Aaron B
Trending review: I had these installed, so I can’t comment on the installation process, but they did raise the truck nicely. However, I wouldn’t recommend them if you plan on upgrading for off-roading purposes. The spacer kit is primarily for visual appeal and won’t improve your off-road performance significantly, apart from slightly increasing the vehicle’s height. If anything, it could potentially put additional stress on front suspension parts like ball joints and A-arms.
That being said, I personally only use my truck on paved roads. I installed the spacers to level my truck and put on better tires. If leveling is all you’re looking for, this product is definitely great. I would suggest opting for a 2.75-inch spacer instead of a 3-inch one, and I didn’t install the rear ones because it would have raised the entire truck rather than leveling it. By adding the 3-inch spacer to the front, it leveled almost perfectly, with just about an 1/8 inch higher in the front. – jimuntu
Reassuring review: I am happy with how it turned out. The instructions were straightforward, but there is one thing I would like to add: make sure to buy a spring compressor! It is important to compress the spring before lowering the jack. While I managed to do it without a spring compressor in the front, I realized it was necessary for the rear. If I had to do it again, I would have used it for the front as well.
I highly recommend installing both spring compressors, not just the front as one of the reviews suggests. Due to the body lines of the truck, it looks a bit odd and unbalanced with only the front lifted. Adding a 3-inch lift in the front does level it out, but I personally didn’t like the appearance. Take a look at the pictures to see for yourself. – michael glappa

Trending review: I recently installed this leveling kit on my 2017 Ram 1500, and I must say, the results are impressive. Not only does it make the truck look great, but it also levels it perfectly, passing the eye test. I received some assistance from my soon-to-be son-in-law during the installation, and while putting the strut bolt back in place proved to be a bit challenging due to the spacer’s increased length of the strut, it was well worth it. The camber and toe remained almost unchanged after the install, but there is a slight misalignment in the steering wheel, which will be resolved with an alignment I have scheduled for early this week. The leveling kit has made a noticeable difference, as seen in the “before” picture near the campfire. Previously, there was only about 3 inches above my front wheel, but now it’s around 6. Overall, I am pleased with the outcome and I don’t anticipate encountering any issues. It’s worth mentioning that my son-in-law, who works as a diesel mechanic for his father’s landscaping business, has previous experience installing leveling kits, although not specifically on a Ram. – Scott

However, after the front end settled, I concluded that the upper ball joint did not look too stressed. Overall, there was no noticeable difference in the ride quality. – Erika B
Most-discussed review: I am very satisfied with the overall outcome of these well-machined and solid billett products. They were considerably cheaper than competitors, yet offered excellent quality. Despite the slightly more involved installation process, everything aligned perfectly and leveled my 2012 Ram 1500. – Amazon Customer
Updated review: I installed this great product in about 2 hours. It was my 5th lift/leveling kit installation, but my first that wasn’t rough country. It provided me with about 2.5 inches of lift. Overall, it’s a good product that I would purchase again. – Kenneth Mehring

Highlight: Raise the front of your truck by 3″ and the rear by 2″ with this set. It’s perfect for 2009-2019 Dodge Ram 1500 4WD, ensuring a sleek and stylish upgrade.
Reviews of customer
Helpful review: I found an installation video on YouTube and followed it to install a Dodge Ram lift kit with my friend. It took us nearly 3 hours, but the results were worth it. The lift kit raised the height of my car body, keeping it level and looking perfect. Although I didn’t feel a significant difference while driving for two kilometers, it greatly reduced the risk of my chassis being scratched. Now I can install larger tires for my car. I am eager to test it out in a few days and expect even better performance. Overall, I am delighted with the installation, even though it required patience. – Five Star
Trending review: I’m pleased that my husband liked his gift. The price was incredibly reasonable. It was a bit confusing for him initially, but he managed to figure it out. Now, he loves the results, and his truck looks amazing! – ***kAMi kLEiN***
Reassuring review: Installing the 3″ pucks on the front end without proper research was a terrible idea. It caused excessive strain on the entire front end, particularly the CV joints. As a result, all my dash lights are on, including the cruise control and traction control malfunctioning. While the truck may look cooler, it is completely pointless if the CV axles break. Learn from my mistake and avoid doing this. Now, I have to purchase a proper lift kit to rectify this error. – Ken Bartholf
Updated review: When installing parts on struts and under rear springs, please note that if you have a Ram Outdoorsmen trim, it is important not to flip the struts 180 degrees during reinstallation. Outdoorsmen trims are equipped with special heavy duty off-road struts. To properly align the new strut bolts with the holes, you will need to compress the springs and disassemble the strut. Reinstalling the front struts may require some force to be applied on the upper and lower control arms, but it can be done. After installation, I haven’t noticed any changes in ride quality so far. – Read Beauchamp

9) 3″ Front and 2″ Rear Leveling Lift Kits

Highlight: Compatible with 2009-2019 RAM 1500 4WD 4×4 and 2020-2022 RAM 1500 2WD/4WD New Body Style. Does not fit RAM 1500 2WD Mega Cab, TRX, or Rebel models.
Reviews of customer
Helpful review: During the installation process, here are some key points to consider:
When dropping your lower a-arm, be cautious of your front brake and sensor lines. To reinsert the spring with the spacer, it may require someone to apply pressure on the lower arm while ensuring the lines remain free.
Installing the rear springs on the free-floating spacers may require assistance from another person. Even with all components detached, one person can bounce on the hub while the other person sets the spring.
UPDATE: After getting an alignment, minor adjustments were made, but the truck was already within specs. Therefore, with a brand new truck and factory wheels/tires, this kit does not affect the alignment. – James Henry
Trending review: Luckily, the parts arrived in a simple cardboard box, but unfortunately, there were no installation instructions included. Fortunately, my resourceful brother was there to lend his expertise, and together, we successfully tackled the installation in just under two hours. It’s worth noting that this process involves altering the suspension’s geometry, which necessitates a four-wheel alignment. This additional step took an extra two hours at the local dealership. While I didn’t specifically measure the change in height, I could immediately sense a difference as I effortlessly reached the running boards upon stepping into the cab. – Clayton McKinnis
Reassuring review: The 2017 Ram 1500 4×4 is the perfect vehicle to showcase them. Not only does it enhance the truck’s appearance, but it also provides great value for the money. Although it doesn’t level the truck completely, it captures the true essence of a 4×4 truck’s aesthetic. – Chad B.
Updated review: I installed it easily in my driveway. It’s 1 inch higher in the back, with the front measuring 40″ and the back measuring 41″. It still looks good to me, and it’s hard to tell the difference. The ride on my truck remains smooth, with no stiffness or complaints. – SB

Top-rated: 149+++ ratings | 4+++ answered questions
Highlight: This set is suitable for 2009-2023 RAM 1500 4WD, effectively raising the front by 3 inches and the rear by 2 inches.
Helpful review: Installing these is super easy and they are of much higher quality compared to plastic versions. However, keep in mind that an alignment is necessary after installation as it usually requires loosening the lower control arm to frame bolts. – Steve
Trending review: Installing these name brand alternatives is not only cost-effective but also relatively simple. Although no instructions are provided, you can find plenty of YouTube tutorials to guide you. I recommend using hydraulic jacks and jack stands for added safety in my humble opinion (IMHO). – RScherer
Reassuring review: I installed both the front and rear myself. While the rear installation was relatively straightforward, the front required some additional effort. I followed the instructions, but encountered an unexpected challenge – I had to use a crowbar to assist with the reinstallation of the front springs. However, now that everything is installed, it looks fantastic. – Ashlynn H
Most-discussed review: “This modification not only raised my truck’s clearance significantly, but it also enabled me to install tires that are 2 inches bigger. To successfully install them, having a good understanding of suspension work is necessary. Being someone who has worked on cars for most of my life, it took me 12 hours to complete the installation without using a lift.” – Gary
Updated review: After installation, these coilovers provide a well-fitted and quiet ride, eliminating any factory-like noise. If you choose not to use a coil spring compressor, ensure the protection of your brake lines when lowering the lower control arm to clear the spring. – Ryan Counihan

I’m Timothy Ballard, owner of a used car dealership in Springfield. I love just about everything automotive, but I have a special place in my heart for trucks. I’m an ASE Certified Master Technician, so I know my way around a car. In my spare time, I enjoy traveling with my family and hiking new trails.
I’m browsing through the options, and there are quite a few out there. I need something that’s especially sturdy because I don’t want to make a mistake and end up with something that won’t last. Does anyone have any recommendations? I’ve noticed that Rough Country comes up a lot, does anyone have experience with them?
Hey everyone,
I’m new here and couldn’t find a specific topic, so if it already exists, please drop a comment with a link.
Anyway, I’ve ordered a 2023 Ram 1500 EcoDiesel Laramie 4×4 Crew Cab Short Bed and I’m excited about upgrading it once it arrives. One of the upgrades I have in mind is lifting/leveling the truck. After some research, I’ve come across four lift kits that caught my interest. Of course, I’m open to other suggestions, so feel free to leave a comment below.
Here are the four lift kits currently on my list:
Rough Country 3.50-Inch Bolt-On Suspension Lift Kit with Lifted N3 Struts and Premium N3 Shocks
Rough Country 3.50-Inch Bolt-On Suspension Lift Kit with V2 Monotube Shocks
Rough Country 3-Inch Bolt-On Suspension Lift Kit with Premium N3 Shocks
ReadyLIFT 3.50-Inch SST Suspension Lift Kit
I believe these four lift kits meet my criteria, which include:
No modifications required (Bolt-On and ready to go)
Able to fit 35’s on 22’s without any rubbing
Suitable for on-the-road use
I would greatly appreciate any advice or input on these lift kits, as well as any other recommendations.
Thanks!
